We offer a wide range of Thames education programmes for schools, we can come to you; see our outreach section, or bring your children to one of our many sites. All or our courses are designed to promote a deeper understanding of the river and link directly to the National Curriculum. Download our 2009/10 Schools brochure or use the map below to learn more about our many site visits.
Thames education takes many forms and can be everything from river dipping and exploration for KS1 right through to education for adults through lectures and talks. We provide courses in the following subjects; Geography, History, Archaeology, Science, Environmental Science, Art and English. We have a wealth of experience having provided river based courses for over 21 years. We have become known for the quality of our courses. We take health and safety extremely seriously and have developed and written the Health and Safety guidelines for visits to the foreshore. These are freely available for all as a download from the front page of our website.
We also work with other river based groups, We were the founders of the Thames Education Network the umbrella group that coordinates the tidal Thames, a forum now under the wing of the Thames Estuary Partnership, This works with all organisations that have an interest in the Thames, and includes such disparate groups as the Tower of London, the RSPB, Deptford Creek Education Centre and of course ourselves. We also work with the River Thames Alliance to promote Thames activites in the non tidal Thames.
