Archaeology on the foreshore of the Thames .
Over the past 3 years the trust has been instrumental in providing support to the Thames Discovery Programme. This was a 3 year project, funded by the Heritage lottery Programme that developed community archaeology along the foreshore. Our work with the project was to develop the educational resources. These are about to be published soon and will be available in both the downloads section of our website and of course on the Thames Discovery Programmes own site.
There were some major discoveries in the life of the project, especially at their sites in Charlton and Vauxhall All the details of which can be found on their website
Although the project has now come to a successful conclusion, it was so successful that the project workers have been taken on to the staff of the Museum of London Archaeology service with the aim of, with the help of both professional consultation work and different project grants to keep the project going into the future.
The Thames Discovery Programme is a large multifaceted project and their site is well worth exploring.
