Chiswick on 14 June 2002. Here is what they found
on their wildlife survey...

What was it like on the Thames foreshore today?
We had a cloudy afternoon on the foreshore, but
everyone still did a great job finding animals.
There were loads of baby flounder caught by our
expert fish catchers! We also found shrimps and
leeches and loads of snails.
What does our survey us about the "Rhythms
of the River"?
We know that the baby flounder travel up the
river in the late spring/early summer, so the
ones we found are right on time! On a positive
note, the other animals collected today, like
the sensitive freshwater shrimp, let us know that
the river is quite clean since they cannot survive
in water with lots of pollution.
