What was it like on the Thames foreshore today?
We had a cool day on the foreshore, but luckily
the rain held off. Everyone did a brilliant job
finding animals! We found nine different animals,
including lots of shrimps, leeches, snails and
quite a few crabs. Like other groups this week,
we also found quite a few baby gobies.
What does our survey us about the "Rhythms
of the River"?
What we found today was very similar to findings
the rest of the week. The freshwater shrimp are
doing well, which is a good sign for the river.
However, the number of baby Chinese mitten crabs
is bad news. The fact that the crabs are multiplying
leads us to think that they will be doing even
more damage in the future.
